Not long ago the first computer and the world wide web were born. The astonishing effect of the fanciest artist being muse of itself. Now a delightful cornucopia of pure science is flowing from that bizarre inspiration. What’s next?
I am a Master Student in Computer Science - track Data Science & Engineering, Artificial Intelligence - at University of Genoa. I would like to devote my career to cutting-edge problems related to artificial and biological intelligence. My research interests are computational models of perception and cognition, along with agents based on deep reinforcement learning. I am also interested in the design of efficient machine learning algorithms for general applications. I believe that the powerful alliance between machine learning and neuroscience can lead ourselves into a larger and more unified theory of intelligence.
Currently, I am studying machine learning methods applied to high energy physics under the supervision of Prof. Lorenzo Rosasco at the Laboratory for Computational and Statistical Learning, part of the Machine Learning Genoa center. I am also scholarship holder at IANUA, the excellence school of University of Genoa. Previously, I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Automation Engineering from Polytechnic University of Bari. For my thesis I worked on deep learning and computer vision during an internship at the National Research Council of Italy, where my supervisor was Dr. Vito Renò.
